After you are covered

The relationship does not end when the policy is issued.

Most of what goes wrong with insurance goes wrong in year two, not on the day you buy it.

What happens after I buy a policy?

Service requests are handled actively rather than left to you and a carrier call centre, straightforward changes are made without requiring a phone call, and your policy is re-shopped against the market before it renews, with a clear keep-or-switch recommendation.

The common failure is not a bad policy. It is a policy that was right when it was bought and quietly stopped being right.

Service

What we actually do.

Changes without a phone call
Adding a vehicle, updating an address, correcting a mortgagee clause, requesting documents. Straightforward changes are executed rather than queued; anything needing a licensed decision goes to an advisor.
Requests that get routed, not lost
Inbound service requests are classified and sent to the right place automatically, so the answer does not depend on who happens to pick up.
Renewal re-shopped, not rolled over
Carriers re-rate over time, so the insurer that was competitive when you bought may not be at renewal. Your policy is compared against the current market before that date.
A recommendation, with reasoning
You get a clear keep-or-switch view before renewal, including when the answer is to stay where you are.

Renewal

Why a renewal is worth looking at.

Carriers re-rate. The insurer that priced best when you bought may not price best a year later, and the increase usually arrives as a document rather than a conversation.

Re-shopping means comparing your existing policy against the current market on like-for-like coverage before that date, so any difference reflects a real difference rather than a thinner policy. Sometimes the answer is that you are already in the right place, that is a useful answer too, and you get it either way.

Making a claim

Who does what when something happens.

Claims are decided and paid by the carrier that issued your policy, not by an agency. What the coverage does, what the deductible is, and what gets paid are set by the policy document.

What an agency can do is help you understand what your policy says, make sure the right details reach the right place, and stay involved while it is open. Report the claim to your carrier using the number on your policy documents, then tell us. We can pick it up from there.

Insurance is offered and serviced through licensed Partner Agencies, which are insurance agencies, not insurance companies. Coverage is underwritten and issued by third-party insurance carriers. Nothing on this site is an offer or binder of insurance, and no coverage is in force unless and until a carrier issues a policy.
