What is Alcove?

Alcove is your advisor in the insurance market, not just another place to get a quote. We shop home, auto, renters, umbrella, landlord, life and disability, and business coverage on your behalf, then bring you a short list of the options actually worth considering, with the reasoning behind each one. A licensed advisor is there for the decisions that deserve a second opinion, and we stay in your corner through service and renewal, so what matters most to you stays protected, not just insured.

A comparison site ends at the quote and leaves the analysis to you. Alcove narrows the results to genuinely comparable options, keeps a licensed advisor available for the decisions that need one, and handles service and renewal after the policy is issued.

What we place

Coverage for what people and businesses actually insure.

What's different

The parts that usually go wrong, handled.

A short list, not a wall of quotes
We shop the market and then narrow it. You see the options that fit your situation with the reasoning attached, instead of forty rows sorted by a price that is not comparing like for like.
A licensed advisor when it matters
Routine steps happen without a phone call. Questions, edge cases and anything that needs judgement go to a real, licensed person, not a queue.
Proof of insurance where it needs to go
When a lender, title agency or dealership needs evidence of coverage by a date, that is the deadline we work to, and we send the document directly.
A relationship that continues after you buy
Service requests are handled actively, and your policy is re-shopped before it renews so you find out where you stand before the increase, not after.

The process

From first question to covered.

  1. Tell us the situation

The property or the vehicle, what has to happen, and by when. If you already have a policy, your declarations page answers most of it in one document.

  2. We shop, then we narrow

The market is shopped widely and the results are ranked against your actual circumstances. You get a short list with the reasoning, not a raw export.

  3. Ask anything

A licensed advisor is available for the parts that need a person, where to set a deductible, whether a limit is enough, what an exclusion actually means.

  4. Coverage is bound

Once you choose, the carrier confirms coverage and proof of insurance is issued and delivered to whoever needs it.

  5. We stay on it

Changes, documents and questions are handled as they come up, and the policy is re-shopped ahead of renewal with a keep-or-switch recommendation.

Questions

Asked before getting started.

Is Alcove an insurance company?

No. Insurance is offered and serviced through licensed Partner Agencies, which are insurance agencies rather than insurance companies, and coverage is underwritten and issued by third-party carriers. Alcove provides the technology, operations, and licensed advisor layer behind those agencies. Nothing on this site is an offer or binder of insurance, and no coverage is in force until a carrier issues a policy.

How does Alcove decide which options to show me?

We shop the market and then narrow it, rather than handing you every result. Options are ranked against your actual situation — the property or vehicle, the coverages you need, and any requirement a lender or dealer has imposed — and you see a short list with the reasoning, not a wall of forty quotes. A licensed advisor can walk you through why one option sits above another.

Do I have to talk to someone?

Only if you want to. Routine steps are handled without a phone call. But every customer has access to a real, licensed advisor for questions, edge cases, exceptions, and anything that needs judgement — and for decisions that materially affect your coverage, a qualified licensed person is involved as required by law.

How quickly can I get proof of insurance?

Faster than the usual back-and-forth, because the information needed to quote generally arrives with you rather than being collected over several emails. Once you choose a policy and the carrier confirms it, proof of insurance is issued and can be sent directly to your lender, title agency, or dealership. Exact timing depends on the carrier and on how complete the information is.

What information do I need to get a quote?

For a home, the address and basic facts about the property — roughly when it was built, the age of the roof and major systems, and anything unusual about it. For a car, the vehicle identification number, who will drive it, and any lender or lessor requirements. If you already have a policy, your current declarations page answers most of these in one document.

What happens after I buy a policy?

The relationship continues. Service requests — adding a vehicle, updating a mortgagee clause, changing an address, requesting documents — are handled actively rather than being left to you and the carrier's call centre. Straightforward changes are made without requiring a phone call; anything that needs a licensed decision goes to an advisor.
